Paramount in talks to distribute new Terminator movie
Wheels in motion for fifth film
Progress seems to be afoot with the long-awaited Terminator 5 , with Paramount having reportedly entered talks to snap up the distribution rights for the prospective sequel.
All has been quiet on the Terminator front since Skydance signed on to partner with production company Annapurna last December, but now it seems Paramount wants to step in and get things moving.
Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier are currently hard at work on writing a script, and should Paramount's deal go through, we'd expect a director to be appointed in due course.
Justin Lin had originally been attached to fill the director's chair, only for Fast & Furious commitments to force him to vacate it. However, with production on Terminator 5 having been significantly delayed, there is still a chance he could return to the project…
Perhaps most important, however, is whether or not Arnold Schwarzenegger decides to return as the Terminator. Last we heard, Arnie was still keen, so lets hope this one springs into life before he changes his mind…
