Paranormal Activity 2?
Paramount is pondering a sequel...
Now that it's a qualified box office sensation, Paramount is considering options for a Paranormal Activity sequel.
We have the rights on a worldwide basis to do Paranormal 2 and we're looking to see if that makes some sense," blabbed studio chief Brad Grey to the LA Times.
While we're not surprised by the move - and it's still nowhere near real yet - it sounds like a terrible idea. Paranormal Activity is one of those once-in-a-moment films that works so well because it comes out of nowhere.
Lots of people remember how terrified by The Blair Witch Project. But the sequel, Book Of Shadows? It's mostly laughable.
Hopefully the Paramount bods will just be happy to fill their swimming pools with the wads of cash that the film is making for them and go romp around, Scrooge McDuck-style.
And if they're feeling generous, why not offer Paranormal director Oren Peli some funding for a future project?
