Paul Bettany has long been part of the Marvel Universe as Tony Stark's computerized butler, J.A.R.V.I.S, but the star is now set for something of an upgrade in the form of a live action role in Avengers: Age Of Ultron .
According to Variety , the star has been cast as The Vision, an android created by malevolent robot (and the film's big bad), Ultron.
The obvious question is whether the movie version of The Vision will be related to J.A.R.V.I.S. in any way, perhaps as some sort of corrupted version of Stark's technology?
Of course, Bettany could be playing an entirely unrelated character, but it would seem a surprising move to cast from within the existing ensemble if there is to be no link between the two…
In any case, it will be nice to see Bettany getting his first proper on-screen bow when the film opens in the UK on 1 May 2015.
