Paul Giamatti could star in David Cronenbergs Cosmopolis
Alongside Colin Farrell and Marion Cotillard
Paul Giamatti is in talks to star in David Cronenberg’s next film Cosmopolis .
The ‘day in the life of’ drama follows Eric Packer, a 28-year-old billionaire who makes a trip across Manhattan in his luxurious limousine in order to get a haircut at his father’s favourite barber shop.
On the way, Packer’s trip is delayed thanks to a presidential visit, the funeral procession of a dead rapper and a full-on riot.
Colin Farrell has already been lined up to play Packer, while Marion Cotillard is playing his wife. Giamatti’s part in the madness has yet to be confirmed, though it’s possible he’ll be one of Packer’s ominous stalkers.
Other projects currently on Cronenberg’s to do list include an adap of Jonathan Lethem’s novel As She Climbed Across The Table .
Next up, A Dangerous Method opens in cinemas in 2011.
