Payday 2 essentials guide and walkthrough
Big Oil, Day 2
The second day of the job is much tougher. You need to get away with a very particular reactor, so be prepared for a bit of a puzzle.
To start, you'll need to get inside the large house. There are lots of patrolling guards and cameras, so careful movement and knockout blows are needed. The hedges along the sides of the house provide good cover when sneaking in.
Inside the house, continue your careful movement until you find the security room. Inside, start hacking your way into the lab below the house. If your cover is blown during this time, the hacked computer can be halted from a different room. You'll need to stop this interference and restart the hack should this happen.
With the lab open, head inside to engage in the game's biggest (and really, only) puzzle. There are multiple reactors inside the lab, but only one is correct one. To determine this, you need to analyze a few things. Note that this puzzle can and must be solved with both a stealth or non-stealth run; things will just be more urgent and chaotic with police involved.
First, determine the tank color. There will be a clipboard with graph paper somewhere in the house that states either deuterium, helium, or nitrogen. Find this to determine the gas you need, then look at the whiteboard inside the lab - it will tell you which color indicates which gas.
Next, you need to look for a second clipboard which something like "3 x H" written at the bottom. The number will tell you how many cables are connected to the correct canister. As the example given was "3 x H," you'll need to find a canister with three connected cables.
Finally, you need to find what looks like a computer straight out of War Games (as in, black screen with a green grid). This will have a set amount of psi (pounds per square inch) displayed. You then need to convert this number to bar (no, seriously), so divide the number by 14.5. This will give you the bar number.
With all this information, locate the canister with correct color, number of cables, and bar. The correct reactor will be attached to this canister. Grab it and lug the very heavy object to its pickup helicopter, and get back to the van. Note that you can deliver the wrong reactor to the helicopter, but you'll just waste time, as you cannot leave until the correct one is delivered.
