Peter Capaldi is leaving Doctor Who after the next series - here are the favourites to replace him
Peter Capaldi has announced he'll leave Doctor Who at the end of the next series, set to begin on Saturday April 15.
Speaking to the BBC he said, "I feel it’s time to move on," adding that he had been asked to stay but decided not to.
The news has obviously sparked huge speculation on who will take over and, more than ever this time, there's talk of a female Doctor, with names like Agent Carter's Hayley Atwell, Fresh Meat's Zawe Ashton and even Olivia Colman being mentioned.
However, current betting odds favour 'Q' and the voice of Paddington, Ben Whishaw, with The IT Crowd's Richard Ayoade a close second.
You can see the full list of odds below, which is a mix of some interesting choices and some that are never going to happen (James Corden? Really?). However, before you take a look, let's answer the all important question:
