Peter Jackson resumes production on The Hobbit
Cameras rolling again in New Zealand
Work has restarted once more on The Hobbit , with Peter Jackson taking to Facebook to brief the world on just what remains to be done on the sprawling project.
"Back on set for our last Hobbit pick-ups," revealed Jackson on the social media site. "Our last ever Tolkien pick-ups, in fact.
"It’s going to be an intense few weeks, but we’re looking forward to shooting some powerful scenes with our great cast."
The remaining pick-ups are thought to last about ten weeks, with a decent chunk of the the third film still to be filmed, including much of the epic finale, the Battle of Five Armies.
The video production blog for that one promises to be pretty spectacular, with Jackson revealing the next installment of his behind-the-scenes diary is "coming soon". Watch this space...
The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug opens in the UK on 13 December 2013, with The Hobbit: There And Back Again following on 17 December 2014.
