Peyton Reed directing Ant-Man
Adam McKay on board as screenwriter
After a couple of weeks of frenzied searching, Marvel has finally found a new director for Ant-Man , with Yes Man 's Peyton Reed officially confirmed to have replaced Edgar Wright.
He will be joined on the project by Adam McKay, who will contribute to the script, having initially been tapped for the position of director.
Marvel's confirmation of its two new recruits comes in tandem with the release of a first official synopsis, which introduces the film as follows:
"Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats."
"Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world."
Colour us excited! Co-starring Evangeline Lilly, Patrick Wilson and Michael Peña, Ant-Man will open in the UK on 17 July 2015.
