Phoenix takes to the Road
Joaquin set to star in Hotel Rwanda helmer's gripping family drama
Having finished work on James Gray’s crime drama We Own The Night a little while back, Joaquin Phoenix has been kicking back and waiting for the right script to hit the doormat. It seems that moment has arrived.
The Walk The Line star has nabbed himself a role opposite Mark Ruffalo in Terry George’s drama Reservation Road. The tale follows the lives of two fathers whose fates are intertwined when Ruffalo’s character commits a hit-and-run on Phoenix’s son.
With Hotel Rwanda writer/director George at the helm, this is sure to be edge of seat stuff, loaded with emotion and spilling over with tension.
The script was penned by John Burnham Schwartz and based on his novel. Reservation Road is set to start shooting later this year in line for a 2007 release.
