Pikmin 2 Wii-make (finally) coming to North America
New Play Control: Pikmin sequel coming out West this year
North American Pikmin fans are due to finally get their hands on the New Play Control version of Pikmin 2. Nintendo Power announced the long-awaited arrival in its latest issue, pegging the GameCube remake for a release later this year.
The New Play Control series of games have seen many Gamecube classics outfitted with motion controls and re-released on the Wii. So far, virtually all of the UK and PAL territory titles have made their way out West – including the New Play Control version of the original Pikmin – but it's taken Pikmin 2 over three years to cross the pond.
Pikman 2's North American arrival is thought to be Nintendo's way of getting fans excited for Pikmin 3 on its forthcoming console, the Wii U. Earlier this month, Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed a version of the new Pikman game will be shown at E3 2012.
