For the first time ever, the Pikmin series will be coming to handhelds - specifically, the 3DS - in 2017. Pikmin for Nintendo 3DS (name not final yet) will feature Captain Olimar in an adventure where he must use the various colours of Pikmin to explore and navigate hostile alien terrain. Sounds like every Pikmin game right? Well, this one's also in 2D.
Nintendo revealed the game during today's Nintendo Direct, saying that the game will be more action-focused than its predecessors, testing players' reflexes and speed. There's no official title or release window beyond sometime in 2017, but at least it's not the 9-year wait fans had to endure between Pikmin 2 and Pikmin 3. Check it out in action below.
