Play Rocket League on Xbox One for free all weekend, online multiplayer included
Multiplayer will be free all across the world of Xbox this weekend. From today through Sunday, June 12, all Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners will be able to play online without an Xbox Live Gold membership, and Rocket League will also be be free to play on Xbox One for the same period (you'll still have to buy it if you want to keep playing later).
Free multiplayer weekends aren't new for Microsoft, but this is the first time it's ever flipped the switch for both Xbox One and Xbox 360 at the same time. It also happens to be the weekend before E3, so it couldn't hurt to get people excited ahead of time. Microsoft's E3 press conference will begin at 9:30 am PDT / 5:30 pm BST on Monday, June 13.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
