Play.com: "We will deliver"

Wednesday 14 February 2007
Online retailer Play.com has confirmed to GamesRadar that every customer who pre-orders a PS3 through its website will receive a console on launch day, Friday 23 March. In addition, Play has reshuffled its bundled games package in response to our own investigations into UK pre-orders, replacing Formula One with the infinitely more explosive MotorStorm.

"We have been working hard with Sony to make sure that we can deliver every pre-order on the release date [of PlayStation 3]," Gian Luzio, Head of Games at Play, has assured us, stressing that Play "can confirm that ALL customers who pre-order the PS3 three game bundle from Play.com will receive their console on launch day".

The three games offered by the bundle are now Genji, Resistance: Fall of Man and MotorStorm, which Play believe are the PS3's strongest launch titles. Meanwhile the cost for the package has been lowered from just under £550 to the bit-of-a-bargain-really £524.99.

To ensure every pre-order is filled on day one of the PS3's emergence in the UK, Play.com will cease to offer the service once its launch day allocation has been reached. You still have time, however, as Luzio informed us that there's still "some way to go" before Play reaches its maximum order limit.
