We mentioned Beartic's distinctive design inPokemon Monday 22, but it bears repeating – this polar bear has an aggressive crotch. Despite his tough looks though,Beartic is in a difficult spot competitively, because his status as a physical attacker severely limits his STAB movepool. Icicle Drop is your best option, with 85 base power, 90% accuracy and a 30% chance of causing your opponent to flinch. Ice Punch isn't all that bad either, with 75 base power, 100% accuracy and a 10% chance of freezing your opponent, but it's probably not worth the trouble sinceBeartic can only learn it through breeding.

You're better off only picking one STAB attack and then rounding out the rest of Beartic's movepool with type-coverage attacks. For EVs, definitely max out his attack with 252 attack EVs, and then the rest is up to you. You could also beef up his HP, or try to make up for his low speed stat, or a combination of both.
