Pokemon Diamond/Pearl Advanced Guide
You've mastered the Pokemon League, but there's still plenty of adventure to be found in Sinnoh
Still need more things to do in Sinnoh? Here’s a few places to check out.
THE RUIN MANIAC’S CAVE
You’ll find this guy digging his way through a cave on the western side of Route 214. He’s a big Unown fan, apparently. You can try bringing Unown to him, but nothing will happen. Instead, focus your efforts on the ruins in Solaceon. You can find 26 types of Unown here, each representing a different alphabet letter. Different Unown types appear in different rooms, so scour the place thoroughly. When you’ve got all 26, head back to where the guy was digging. You’ll find that he’s dug a passage into an entirely new section of the Solaceon Ruins! In the room at the end of this passage, the rare “!” and “?” Unown can be found. Catch them both for your full set of 28!
You can take the Unown you’ve got to a kid who lives in a house in Solaceon near the ruins. (You’ll need to hop off a few ledges to reach the place.) Show him any Unown by placing it at the front of your party. He’ll give you 10 stickers of the letter it represents that can be used to decorate Ball Capsules. Show him all 28, one by one, to get a full alphabet set.
RIBBON CENTER
Do you like Ribbons? Of course you do! They make you and your pokemon feel extra-special. And guess what? There’s a very special place for you, away from the Ribbon-less riffraff of society, where you can go and bask in your specialness.
The Ribbon Society is located in the Resort Area on the northeastern island. To get in, any one pokemon in your party needs to have earned at least 10 Ribbons.

The Ribbon Society is located in the Resort Area on the northeastern island. To get in, any one pokemon in your party needs to have earned at least 10 Ribbons.
Places where you can get Ribbons:
- Sunyshore will give a pokemon the Effort Ribbon if you have maxed out its Effort Values.
- Another lady in Sunyshore asks you to tell her stories every day. Visit her once a day to get a new Ribbon.
- Each Super Contest a pokemon wins in Hearthome gives it a Ribbon. (The same ribbon can%26rsquo;t be won twice, however.)
- If a pokemon%26rsquo;s happiness is at maximum level, you can visit the man who lives a bit east of Pastoria to get the Footprint Ribbon.
- After beating Cynthia, each pokemon in your party will get a special Ribbon.
Once you get 10 or more Ribbons for a certain pokemon, you can enter the Ribbon Society, where you can... uh... buy more Ribbons. Obscenely expensive ribbons. Ever wanted to pay 100,000 Pokedollars for something you can only see on the status screen? Well guess what, your prayers have been answered.
Well, it’s not a total wash. There’s a spa upstairs, which can boost a Pokemon’s happiness levels. Combine that with Veilstone’s masseuse and you’ll have some very pretty, pampered pokes.
EEVEE
Who doesn’t love this little guy? Eevee can be obtained in the Pokegarden on certain days, but the easiest way to get one is by visiting Bebe in Hearthome City after you get the National Dex. There are two new Eevee-volutions in Diamond/Pearl, Glaceon and Leafeon. To trigger these transformations, you’ll need to level up Eevee near certain magical rocks. Leafeon can be obtained by fighting near the rock to the northwest of the Eterna Forest entrance, while Glaceon’s rock is located in the northeastern part of the stormy path to Snowpoint City. Can’t decide what type of Eevee you want? You can evolve one and then breed it to help amass a full set of the little fox-things.
Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow are full of invisible, ultra-rare shinies, and this RPG mod will make sure you never miss one again
Pokemon X & Y's fabled follow-up Pokemon Z was apparently planned all along, as an alleged leaked design document hints at an alternate form for its likely Legendary mascot
