Getting the right natures for your Pokemon can be a time-consuming task. There are a few ways to speed things up. If you're breeding two Pokemon of the same species and happen to have a female with a desirable nature then you want to give her an Everstone. This gives the resulting Pokemon a higher chance of having that nature you want. The amazingly useful Ditto works the same way. For example, a Ditto with an adamant nature that's holding an Everstone has a pretty high chance of producing a Pokemon with an adamant nature.
