Pokemusings, week 41

Pokemon: Feebas
Games: Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald
Location: Route 119

Many Pokemon trainers found Feebas to be the most annoying Pokemon to catch. In Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, Feebas can be found in the waters of Route 119, but only in certain tiles. The location of the tiles can be moved by changing the game's "trendy phrase". However, you still have to search through tons of tiles in order to find one of the six that contains Feebas (Feebai?). Out of the three aforementioned games, we played Sapphire the most. We spent about five hours searching for Feebas until fellow trainer Darryl Vassar (author of ourDiamond/Pearl Pokedex) hooked us up with one. We're eternally grateful for his assistance.

Above: All this hard work for a fish beaten with an ugly stick?!

Catching Feebas in Diamond/Pearl is no walk in the park either. Here you can find Feebas in Mount Coronet (enter via Route 211 or 216). Here is appears in only four tiles (which change daily), but the body of water is much smaller. It's a damn good thing Feebas evolves into a cool and powerful Pokemon, otherwise it would be a monumental waste of time to acquire what we not-so-affectionately call the "fugly fish."
