Pokemon Platinum rumors - what new features can you expect from the third DS installment?
Giratina, Regigigas, and Shaymin Will Have New Forms
Lots of people have already reported that Giratina will have a new form, so that's no biggie. Regigigas is said to be getting a "sky" form. That should be interesting. We have no idea how that enormous pile of junk will be able to get off the ground. Regigigas is a pretty underrated Pokemon. Hopefully its new form will help it get some love.
Above: Ice is nice for Shaymin?
Shaymin is rumored to be getting a Grass/Ice variation. That would give it a killer weakness to Fire, but getting Ice Beam on a powerful Pokemon is always a good thing. Its typing gives it all sorts of interesting possibilities, essentially making it a more powerful version of Abomasnow. By the way, we think everyone should have an Abomasnow named Barack. *snicker* Other people think that this other variant will be part Ice and part something-else-that's-not-Grass. That sounds a bit iffy to us since Shaymin is supposed to be a hippie force of nature.
While these rumors are pretty cool, we wouldn't be surprised if the Giratina form is the only new one. Perhaps the upcoming Pokemon movie, which features Giratina and Shaymin, will help shed some light on these possibilities.
There Will Be a Battle Island
For hardcore trainers, this is probably the juiciest rumor. Battle Island will be something like Battle Frontier - a place with the stiffest challenges and some awesome rewards. Naturally, the prospect of new move tutors has trainers foaming at the mouth and has the potential to rock the competitive scene.
