Power Rangers' Bryan Cranston on what we can expect from Zordon
It was recently announced that Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston will be the one who mentors the Power Rangers as Zordon in the 2017 reboot. While the actor provided the voices for the classic 90's cartoon this new iteration will be going for a decidedly more serious tone, and Cranston has been talking about what to expect from his character:
"The… storyline is that this a real person who is trapped in this etherworld and it becomes this in-the-wall so to speak of [the command center]", Cranston told Entertainment Tonight. "He still has a heart and mind, but an agenda that he’s got to get these five Power Rangers to defend the earth or else everyone they know will be killed".

Cranston also mentions that he did a bit of motion capture work for the role, which means we might see more than just his floating head on screen come March. Indeed, it's not hard to imagine a prologue or flashback dedicated to Zordon's battle with Elizabeth Banks' Rita Repulsa. In any case, here's hoping director Dean Israelite puts Cranston to good use in next year's reboot.
Directed by Dean Israelite and starring Naomi Scott, Dacre Montgomery, RJ Cyler, Ludi Lin, and Elizabeth Banks, the Power Rangers movie will be released in UK and US cinemas on March 24, 2017.
