Pride And Prejudice And Zombies gets Mike White?
School Of Rock man could helm period zombies
School Of Rock actor Mike White could be about to direct his first film in three years by rescuing the troubled production of Pride And Prejudice And Zombies .
The adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith’s ballistic Jane Austen mash-up hit the skids earlier this year when star Natalie Portman and director David O. Russell departed thanks to scheduling conflicts.
Now, The LA Times are reporting that Lionsgate think White could be the man for the job. According to them, he is “one of the few candidates who can handle the film’s many tones”.
It’d be an obvious challenge for the guy, though, considering his sole feature directing credit, 2007’s Year Of The Dog , didn’t involve a) corsets b) period detail or c) zombies.
Still, White’s tackled the undead before (if you blinked, you’ll have missed him in Zombieland ), so he's as good a man as any for the job.
