Prototype 2’s “The Art of Combat” dev diary introduces the tactical dodge
Prototype was a game where you could tear apart tanks and helicopters with your bare hands. Where do you go from there? In the latest developer diary for Prototype 2, the design team at Radical Entertainment talks about combat in the upcoming sequel.
Radical Entertainment isn’t about to introduce suplexing skyscrapers to Prototype 2, but the team is looking at how to tweak the original’s combat system to make fighting multiple enemies more fun. The new tactical dodge move will hopefully strike a nice balance between freeform ass-kicking and more strategically minded strikes, offering more opportunities to dodge and change targets as you make a bloody mess out of anything in your way.
Prototype 2 is scheduled for a worldwide release on April 24, 2012 for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
