Tomb Raider: Anniversary
What's it all about?
Last year's Tomb Raider: Legend was a return to fine form for the ailing franchise, which had long suffered from repetition, shameless exploitation and just plain sucking. With Lara Croft's status as a respectable gaming heroine redeemed, Eidos decided to do something special for the series's 10th anniversary. They've opted to go back and completely revamp the original adventure that made Lara famous. If you're expecting just a prettier port, though, you're in for a surprise...
What's the big deal?
There are two types of remakes: A graphically touched-up port and complete revamps that recreate the whole game with a familiar twist. Tomb Raider Anniversary is definitely the latter. The designers have gone wild with this one - expect not only better graphics, but more abilities for Lara, a more in-depth story, even a few new level designs. And that's just what we know so far. The good folks over at Crystal Dynamics have a few more surprises up their sleeves they're teasing us with, too. We'll be sure to tell you all about them as soon as the news hits our desks.
How does it stack up?

As of yet, there are no plans to release this game on platforms besides the PS2 and PSP, making it a near-exclusive for the stalwart PS2. Suffice to say, if you enjoyed Lara's comeback in Legend, TRA is right up your alley.
