PSone support increased for PSP
Along with improved video playback and RSS tweaks in new firmware
Sony has updated the PSP firmware to version 3.30, which enhances the handheld's PlayStation Network functionality, boosting its support for future PSone games released over the network.
Enhancements also include the option to set the load speeds for PSone games, which can be downloaded via the PS3 onto your PSP, allowing you to speed up loading times, although increasing the speed can cause problems with some games.
The maximum resolution of video files that the PSP can play has also been upped, as well as the ability to display thumbnails for videos stored in the PSPs video folder. The new firmware will also support thumbnails for items in the RSS section.
You can download the new firmware from the official Japanese website if you can't hold out for the US or European release. The Japanese firmware includes an option for English text.
