RAGE demo out on XBLA today, PSN demo scheduled for Dec 6, PC demo to be different
“Steam allows us to do some things differently than we can do on console,” says Bethesda in regards to upcoming PC demo
It’s been well over a month since RAGE released in early October. The id Software developed and Bethesda Softworks published shooter was well received for the most part, earning an enthusiastic 8-out-of-10 reviewfrom GamesRadar. For those still waiting to “try before they buy,” Bethesda has announced that the RAGE demo is now available on Xbox Live and that PS3 owners can look forward to accessing the demo later on December 6.
When asked about the delay, Bethesda’s Pete Hines responded. “There was no time to branch the game before release to do the work necessary, get it tested, and get it certed,” said Hines via twitter. Hines also explained that the PC RAGE demo will differ from the console ones, saying “We are working on something for the PC as well. Steam allows us to do some things differently than we can do on console.”
In the meantime, those grabbing the demo off of Xbox Live can look forward to stopping the Ghost Clan from poisoning the water supply below the town of Wellspring with the opportunity to test-drive vehicles in RAGE at the Speedway.
