The open beta for Rainbow Six Siege that was scheduled to begin today has been postponed. Over on the game's forums, Ubisoft community manager "Ubi_Jax" notes that the open beta is experiencing "issues with matchmaking times and disconnection," and as such, the open beta has been delayed "until a later time."
There's no expected timeframe for the open beta to return, but hopefully it's sooner rather than later. Siege is due to hit store shelves on December 1 - less than a week from now - so any time would-be players are missing out on feels significant.
The good news is that those who have been participating in the closed beta can still do so. The delay only impacts the open beta. Another glass half full way of looking at it would be to say that hey, at least it's happening now and not on release day. Hopefully Ubisoft can get things straightened out quickly.
