Rare Atari 2600 game selling for $12,600!
38 bids and counting for a copy of Air Raid
How much is too much? The latest bid on aneBay auctionfor a Atari 2600 cartridge has just reached the insane price of $12,600. The cartridge these hardcore collectors are bidding on is Air Raid, one of the rarest games ever released on the Atari 2600, at least, that’s what Wikipedia tells us. We’ve never heard of the Space Invaders clone ourselves, or the cartridge’s unique T-handle design.
Still, the seller claims that only 13 copies of this title exist, and if that’s the case, then maybe $12,600 for a copy of an old Atari 2600 game isn’t such a bad deal, assuming that the buyer is made of money and completely out of their mind.
Above: It’s not about the graphics. It’s about the box! A recent auction for the same game was cancelledwhen the seller found the original packaging
