Sly Stallone and John Goodman are in the Ratchet & Clank movie

That animated Ratchet & Clank movie just got an unexpected infusion of star power. Joining the Lombax and robot duo will be Sylvester Stallone, John Goodman, Rosario Dawson (Sin City, Daredevil), Paul Giamatti (The Illusionist, Sideways), and Bella Thorne (Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day).

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film follows Ratchet and Clank as they band together with The Galactic Rangers to stop Chairman Drek from destroying the Solana Galaxy. The original voice cast for Ratchet, Clank, Captain Qwark, and Nefarious will reprise their roles from the games, so it sounds like Stallone and company will likely voice new characters.

Here's hoping that John Goodman will still be Sully from Monsters, Inc., confirming that Ratchet & Clank has been part of the Pixar universe all along, and that Stallone will voice an entire species of mysterious, mumbling aliens.

The Ratchet & Clank movie is being directed by Kevin Munroe, best known for TMNT, and is based off of an original script written by former Ratchet series writer TJ Fixman. It's set to debut in theaters on April 29, 2016.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
