Remastered Tomb Raider trilogy confirmed for PS3
Crystal Dynamics says an HD (DD?) Tomb Raider is on its way
2011 is shaping up to be the year of Lara Croft resurrections as Crystal Dynamics has confirmed via Twitter that an HD Tomb Raider Trilogy is in development for a PS3 release next spring.
Speculation of a Tomb Raider compilation began over the weekend when intrepid internet sleuths spotted a listing for the trilogy atAmazon Germany. Yesterday, Crystal Dynamics' global brand director Karl Stewart solved the burning mystery bytweeting: “Yes, it's official. Tomb Raider PS3 'Trilogy' pack coming in the new year. Full details next week. Watch this space.”
The pack is reported to contain HDenhanced versions of Tomb Raider: Legend, Tomb Raider: Anniversary, as well as Tomb Raider: Underworld. All games willinclude trophy support and unlockable avatars to parade around with in PlayStation Home.
No release date has been made official, but drawing on my 1/8th German heritage, I'm inclined to believe that 22. März 2011 means March 22, 2011. Impressive, I know.
