Repo Man's back!
In comic form, at least…
Alex Cox’s cult 1984 favourite Repo Man is a big favourite round these parts, so we’re excited to learn that Cox himself is finally getting to realise his sequel dreams.
Sadly, it’s not the cinematic vision he originally planned, as he tells Entertainment Weekly : “We all came down for the meeting at Universal, and the executive that we had been delegated to meet was, like, 21 years old and had never seen the original Repo Man. And so it was an absurd meeting of these four old men and this sprightly individual who just didn't know what we were doing in his office. Nothing came of it. Then we thought, well, we'll try to make it independently.”
Neither film version panned out, but he has produced a comic book for the story, which is easily the second best option. Set 10 years after the original stony, Waldo's Hawaiian Holiday finds things much changed for our hero – including himself. Check out the full Cox interview and preview pages from the comic book itself at EW for all the info.
