Return to Raccoon City in this Resident Evil 2 fan remake
If Capcom ever gets around to a Resident Evil 2 remake, I hope it doesn't stray too far from the original's fixed camera angles - basically, if it was like the Resident Evil HD Remaster without the grainy backgrounds, I'd be happy. But until that happens, you can see what RE2 would look like as a Resident Evil 4-inspired third-person shooter in this fan project.
Resident Evil 2 Reborn remakes the streets, shops, and police station of Raccoon City in Unreal Engine 4 to pretty impressive effect. It would look even cooler if the whole thing wasn't so damn dark - that citywide mood lighting initiative really couldn't have come at a worse time - but it is still pretty early in development.
Developer InvaderGames plans to release a free alpha of Resident Evil 2 Reborn later this summer, Capcom legal department permitting.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
