Return of Earthworm Jim and MDK in works
Interplay looking to revive in-house dev studio using cash gained from Fallout sale
Nov 14, 2007
Interplay is looking into reviving its portfolio of deceased game franchises, including Earthworm Jim and MDK.
According to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the company intends to bring its in-house development studio back from the dead using the money it gained from the sale of Fallout to Bethesda.
In a bizarre way then, Fallout 3 could end up causing a flood of rubbish Earthworm Jim cash-ins in the near future.
Interplay could also develop its long-shelved Baldur's Gate and Decent franchises - and it's just snapped up Test Drive from the now publisher-only Atari.
Presuming it can get some decent talent together we reckon MDK could be a great candidate for a modern day update, but more likely we'll end up with 5/10 bargain bin fodder.
Don'tpiss on our childhood, please.
