Richard Ledes has a Hook
And Frank Langella, Elliott Gould and Laura Harring are caught on it
Corporate thrillers tend to be a dodgy game. For every tense ‘70s nerve-shredder there’s an Antitrust. But Richard Ledes is already ahead of the game for indie whistleblower drama On The Hook, snagging a talented cast that includes Frank Langella, Elliott Gould and Laura Harring.
Langella, who has just bagged a Tony award for his performance in Frost/Nixon will juggle his theatre schedule with the movie’s shoot to play an energy corporation whistle blower in fear of his life and that of his ex-girlfriend, a sultry jazz singer (Harring). Gould is the private eye he hires to keep them both alive.
To ensure Langella doesn’t fall asleep on stage every night because of exhaustion, Ledes will start shooting in New York next week and plans to be done by July 27.
