Ridley Scott promises a "fresher form of alien" in Prometheus 2
Ridley Scott has been discussing what we can expect from Prometheus 2, with a "fresher form of alien" apparently on the agenda…
"It's fresh,” says Scott of the forthcoming sequel, “and getting away from gods and dragons and shit. If I see one more dragon I’m going to shoot myself. Stop the dragons.”
Scott goes on to describe his original alien as “the definitive dragon and he’s a motherfucker. The alien’s real, which is why it’s probably one of the scariest monsters in film history."
"So, with Prometheus 2, what I’m trying to do is reintroduce a fresher form of alien in the third act."
He goes on to concede that the baby alien in the first Prometheus was very close to the traditional Xenomorph, but promises the extra-terrestrials in the sequel will be very different again…
No official release date has been confirmed as yet, but Prometheus 2 is expected to begin filming in late 2015, ahead of a projected release on 4 March 2016.
