Ridley Scott says Blade Runner 2 script is done
And suggests there will be no Xenomorphs in Prometheus 2
Ridley Scott has been speaking about two of the hotly-anticipated sequels he’s currently working on, with updates on both Blade Runner 2 and Prometheus 2 .
According to Scott, the script for Blade Runner 2 is now complete, and progress now depends on finding time in Harrison Ford’s busy schedule.
"It’s on the charts,” says Scott. "I can’t say when that would be yet, because of [ Ford’s ] thing with Star Wars . It’s a sequel – it’s what happens next. It’s quite surprisingly clever.”
All progressing smoothly then. However, Scott threw more of a curveball regarding Prometheus 2 , suggesting that the Xenomorphs may not appear in the sequel…
“The beast is done,” says Scott. “Cooked. I got lucky meeting Giger all those years ago. It’s very hard to repeat that. After four, think it wears out a little bit… There’s only so much snarling you can do.”
“I think you’ve got to come back with something more interesting. And I think we’ve found the next step. I thought the Engineers were quite a good start.”
