Robert Downey Jr. teases Hawkeyes role in Avengers: Age Of Ultron
And hints at hanging up the iron suit
Robert Downey Jr. has been discussing what we can expect from Avengers: Age Of Ultron , and has hinted that Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye may have a pivotal role to play in the sequel.
“My 2-year-old is crazy about Hawkeye, and I think Jeremy has a lot to do with the plot,” says the star. “There are always so many plates to spin to get these things half-right, and I’m really excited about this one.”
Renner has already been pictured on set , filming with newcomers Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, which might suggest that Hawkeye is key to their joining the team.
Meanwhile, RDJ is also looking to the future, and suggests that the Avengers line-up in its current iteration may only have so much further to go…
“The smart money is you have to look at everybody’s age. I’ll put myself at the top of the list. Sooner or later, they’ve got to start over and get somebody young. I’m not there with them yet.”
Directed by Joss Whedon and co-starring Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo et al, Avengers: Age Of Ultron will open in the UK on 1 May 2015.
