Robert Zemeckis getting Timeless?
Could return to live-action filmmaking
Robert Zemeckis’ Back To The Future is back in cinemas after 25 years, and it seems the director’s feeling a little nostalgic, jumping at the chance to direct new time-hopping movie Timeless .
Having spent much of the past ten years dedicating his time to developing 3D and motion capture with The Polar Express, Beowulf and A Christmas Carol , Zemeckis could be set to return to live-action with Timeless , which is being set up at Warner Bros.
Plot details are nowhere to be found this early in the game, but Deadline report that Timeless would be a tentpole time travel flick with a considerable budget. It will be the first time that Zemeckis has gotten behind the camera since 2000’s Cast Away .
Meanwhile, Zemeckis could also be in the running for the new Superman movie, the director having shown an interest in rebooting the Man of Steel. And then there’s the tricky matter of the Roger Rabbit sequel, which could now be dead thanks to Disney’s abandonment of Zemeckis’ company ImageMovers Digital.
