Rose Byrne updates on X-Men: Days Of Future Past and Insidious 2
The Australian actress talks future projects
Rose Byrne gave Total Film an update on the sequels to two of her biggest hits when we caught up with her to talk about acerbic Brit-com I Give It A Year (keep 'em peeled for the full feature later this week).
X-Men: Days Of Future Past has been hungrily snapping up cast members, with old-guarders Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman clambering aboard Bryan Singer's prequel-sequel with new blood Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Jennifer Lawrence.
Byrne played Moira McTaggart in X-Men: First Class , and, if the comics are anything to go by, her character has plenty of mileage left in the X-movieverse, having significant relationships with Professor X and Banshee.
When we asked if she'd reprise her role in XM:DOFP , Byrne told us:
"I don't know. I would love to be a part of it, but I’ve not heard. I don’t know what they’re planning yet.”
On the topic of the Insidious sequel, Byrne added:
“Well, it’s exciting. It’s all the same team and I’m really proud of that film, I think it’s a really accomplished, scary, great old-school horror film, and I think they’ve seen what really worked in that first one and they just want to make the second one even better.”
I Give It A Year opens in the UK on 8 February 2013. Insidious: Chapter 2 is set to open on 30 August 2013, with X-Men: Days Of Future Past arriving the following year.
