Rumor: Ezio to slip hidden blades into throats in Soulcalibur 5
Da Vinci's flying machine unconfirmed as an alternate costume
Ever since Soulcalibur II, the fighting series has set a precedent of including special guest characters. From Link to Yoda, Namco has found new characters to add to the roster, and it appears as though Soulcalibur V will be no different. According to a tipster, Assassin's Creed's Ezio Auditore de Firenze will be stealthily sneaking into the game's roster undetected, before slashing enemies' jugulars with a hidden blade.
The tipster has no proof besides the image above, but if it's a fake it's easily one of the best we've ever seen. There's also no word if Ezio is going to be the only guest character, or if he'll be console exclusive to either the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 versions. We're hoping that there are going to be additional characters, not because Ezio isn't good enough, but because we're selfish. We'd love to see other characters from big 2011 releases, like Nathan Drake or Batman, get tossed into the roster. That, or maybe Dante from Devil May Cry will finally make an appearance after being cut from Soulcalibur III. Dante is set to be rebooted in the near future with Ninja Theory's DMC, making him ripe for inclusion.
Or this is a fake, and some talented Photoshopsmith is currently laughing hysterically while the internet press scrambles around. We've reached out for a comment on this story, and we'll let you know the moment we know more. In the meantime, you should probably speculate wildly!
