A super slim PS4 model could be on store shelves before year's end, according to a new rumor from DigiTimes. In an article discussing how many units Nintendo plans to sell, the tech-oriented Taiwanese newspaper states the following:
"Microsoft is also planning to release a new Xbox game console codenamed Project Scorpio and the product is expected to be announced at the E3 2017 event, targeting the year-end holiday season. Sony is expected to release a thinner version of its PlayStation 4."
And… that's it. It's almost like an afterthought. And a weird one at that. I mean sure, Sony did release three versions of the PlayStation 3, but those arrived in 2009 and 2012 - three years apart. In light of that, I'm not sure I buy this new rumor. Would the company really release a new model of PS4 just one year after releasing the PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro into the world? More importantly, would people buy them?
For the answer to this, I turn to you. Tell me: what would it take (if anything) to convince you to buy a PS4 Super Slim this year?
