Rumour: 24 movie still alive?
Imagine Entertainment toying with a new idea
The notion of a 24 movie has been kicking around for years now, but it may not be dead just yet, with reports emerging that there are still plans afoot to bring Jack Bauer to the big screen.
According to TV Line , Imagine Entertainment are exploring a new idea for a movie, with Chairman Brian Grazer said to be particularly keen to bring the plan to fruition.
Talk of a film had initially surfaced back in 2010, as soon as the main series finished, with the likes of Tony Scott and Antoine Fuqua linked to the director’s chair.
As it turned out, that film never materialised, but the respectable ratings and decent reviews recently enjoyed by 12-episode revival, 24: Live Another Day , have suggested there is still an appetite for Bauer’s exploits.
Imagine have yet to officially pitch to Fox, so its very early days on this one, but there is still hope that 24 might finally make it to cinemas. Terrorists beware… Bauer isn’t done just yet.
