Rumour Control: Arrested Development movie?
Ron Howard could be on the case...
Good news for anyone missing the severely dysfunctional Bluth family from brilliant-but-cancelled US sitcom Arrested Development.
Two of the show’s stars have hinted that the series will be revived by exec producer (and slightly powerful filmmaker) Ron Howard on the big screen.
"I can confirm that a round of sniffing has started," Arrested and Juno star Jason Bateman tells E! Online . "Any talk is targeting a post-strike situation, of course. I think, as always, that it's a question of whether the people with the money are willing to give our leader, Mitch Hurwitz, what he deserves for his participation. And I can speak for the cast when I say our fingers are crossed."
Fellow cast member Jeffrey Tambor has also been mentioning the possibility, though of course it’s only in discussions at the moment. Still, TV shows get turned into movies all the time – Serenity, anyone? – and Arrested’s quality comedy deserves to live on.
