Rumour Control: The Last Starfighter 2?
The ‘80s sci-fi flick might get a sequel…
Talk about taking your time. The last time anyone got truly excited about The Last Starfighter, it was 1984. Chances are most of the audience for a sequel (not counting nostalgia-loving nerd heads such as, er, ourselves) wasn’t even born when the original blasted onto our screens.
But now, Cinema Blend is reporting that talks are underway to create a sequel to the movie, which saw a teenager (Lance Guest) recruited to help fight in a galactic space war because he’s a really good video game player. Apparently the original filmmaking team (along with Guest) are plotting an idea for a follow-up, which would see the character’s son recruited for a fresh battle. Head to the link for all the details.
And if any aliens are watching, we’ve got a great Wii Sports score we’d like to discuss.
