Rumour: David S. Goyer planning Superman prequel series?
TV show would be set on planet Krypton
With superhero TV shows proving to be very much the flavour of the month, Warner could be about to further explore the Superman story, with a brand new prequel series set on the planet Krypton.
According to Bleeding Cool , Warner has hired Man Of Steel writer David S. Goyer to pen the series, allowing him to expand upon the society he introduced in that film’s first act.
Needless to say, this would a Superman series without Superman himself, but Man Of Steel ’s Krypton-based sequences hinted at plenty of storytelling possibilities based around Jor-El and co.
Gotham has also proved that dropping a superhero from his own franchise needn’t always be a turn-off, with Warner likely encouraged by that show’s strong early ratings.
The report doesn’t supply any further details beyond the fact that the show is unofficially titled Krypton , but hopefully more details will emerge as Warner continues to develop its long-term DC plans…
