Rumour: Josh Holloway to join Batman Vs. Superman and Dwayne Johnson set for Justice League?

The Batman vs. Superman rumours continue to come thick and fast, with two new names having been mentioned in relation to Warner's ongoing plans for the franchise.

First up is the story that Josh Holloway is being "strongly considered" for a part in the film, with the name of Aquaman being bandied around by Comic Book Movie .

That rumour is questioned by Latino Review who cite scheduling conflicts, but they themselves have an even juicier rumour linking Dwayne Johnson to a cameo in Batman Vs. Superman , leading to a starring role in Justice League .

The site claims that Batman Vs. Superman will end on a huge cliffhanger that will lead directly into Justice League , with the two films set to shoot back to back ahead of a 2016 release for the latter.

Now, while we know that Johnson teased a meeting with DC earlier this year, the timeline mentioned does seem a bit outlandish, given that David S. Goyer and Zack Snyder would have had to be grafting like Batman and Superman themselves to get everything set up in time.

Warner could of course have other personnel working on a script in secret, but it seems unlikely. And while the Johnson story has a ring of truth about it, it could just be a case of joining the dots after hearing about his meeting…

Plenty to mull over, then. What we do know for sure is that Batman Vs. Superman will open in the US on 17 July 2015, with a UK date still to be confirmed.
