Rumour: Julianne Moore to join The Hunger Games: Mockingjay?
Star linked to role of President Alma Coin
The Hunger Games franchise may be about to add some serious star-power to its third and fourth films, with Deadline reporting that Julianne Moore is on Lionsgate’s wish-list for its two-part adaptation of Mockingjay .
Apparently the studio likes Moore for the role of President Alma Coin, a manipulative politician who figures prominently in the final book of the series.
Moore has previous with political figures, having recently played Sarah Palin in HBO’s Game Change , and would represent something of a casting coup for the studio.
Moore would follow in the foorsteps of heavyweight actors Philip Seymour Hoffman and Jeffrey Wright, both of whom joined the series for second instalment Catching Fire .
That episode will be next to land in cinemas, with the film set to hit the UK on 22 November 2013. Mockingjay Part 1 will follow on 21 November 2014, before Part 2 concludes the series on 20 November 2015.
