Rumour: Warner keen on Josh Brolin or Ryan Gosling to play new Batman?
Shortlist drawn up for Batman vs. Superman
Warner is already making moves to secure its new Batman, with Heat Vision reporting that the studio has a firm idea of what it wants from its new Dark Knight.
According to the report, the studio is after somebody in their late-30s or early-40s, who is both “established and rugged”, and has compiled a list of suitable actors.
Ryan Gosling is one of the names apparently in Warner’s thinking, alongside Joe Manganiello, Josh Brolin, Richard Armitage, Matthew Goode and Max Martini.
The report also claims that the new film will not retell the origin story, meaning that the new Batman will arrived as a fully formed character, ready to line up alongside Superman.
David S. Goyer has apparently begun work on the script, with Warner planning to begin filming in early 2014, ahead of a 2015 release.
