Runescape officially hits mammoth 200 millionth user milestone

After eleven years on the market, the creators of the popular F2P MMO Runescape made a somewhat startling announcement this morning: Runescape is many times more popular than we ever imagined.

Today, Runescape announced that the title has surpassed 200 million users. To help us visualize that most egregious sum, developer/publisher Jagex sent over a very helpful infographic with some entertaining comparisons.

We were most impressed by the statement that Runescape players chop enough wood in 5.5 weeks to build a bridge to the Moon. We look forward to Jagex announcing that they will in fact allow players to build bridges to the Moon. Because seriously, that would be amazing.

Suddenly finding yourself more attracted to this MMO you've probably only heard of casually before? Head on over to the official site for some trailers and screenshots.
