Saints Row IV cuts a mission for Australian release
No more alien narcotics
The Australian Classification Review Board has approved a modified version of Saints Row IV. The Board twice refused to classify the game in its original form, but with some content amended the game will be sold with the MA15+ rating, CVG reports.
The review board took issue with a side mission in which several characters experiment with alien narcotics to gain superpowers, and a DLC-exclusive anal probe weapon called "The Rectifier." The side mission (an assignment from substance enthusiast Shaundi, who else) has been cut for the Australian version, but "The Rectifier" will still be available with the season pass.
"The mission represents approximately 20 minutes of gameplay out of the hours available to purchasers," a Deep Silver representative wrote.
How better to celebrate this mostly good news than with the first Saints Row IV developer diary?

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo.
