Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana confirmed for Avatar sequels
Officially committed to next three films
It’s been more or less common knowledge that Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana would return for the forthcoming Avatar sequels, but now Fox has gone ahead and officially confirmed their participation.
The duo will reprise their roles as Jake Sully and Neytiri respectively, with both actors committed to the next three films in the series.
According to Deadline , Fox is eyeing a December start date on the sequels, with all three set to be filmed back to back in what promises to be a gruelling process.
The report also claims that the plan is to shoot the film’s extensive motion-capture scenes first, before moving on to the live-action sequences afterwards.
Cameron is currently scripting the first sequel with Josh Friedman, with that film set to arrive in cinemas in December 2016, and its follow ups pencilled in for 2017 and 2018 respectively.
