Sam Worthington is The Candidate
He's starring in the thriller remake
Sam Worthington has agreed to star in Summit's remake of the Danish thriller The Candidate.
There's no director attached yet, but Beau Willimon is writing the script for the film, which, like the original (below), finds a hotshot aspiring lawyer waking up in a hotel room after a half-remembered night with a woman.
Unfortunately for him, he discovers that she's dead in the bathroom and he's going to be blackmailed for her murder.
Naturally, there's a big conspiracy behind it all, and he has to battle to clear his name, uncovering a plot that is linked to his father's mysterious death.
Anyone want to bet his father isn't dead? And we're not taking any bets from those who have seen the original...
